We have moved to C_FunGene  (December 20, 2017)

Part of the institute has moved to the Center of Functional Genomics of Microbes (C_FunGene) building! The building is located at Felix-Hausdorff-Str. 8, just 100 meters from the our old location. Integrating experimental and theoretical groups under one roof, the aim of the research building is to study microbes and their interactions with the host.

While non-microbe research remains at our old location at Walther-Rathenau-Str. 48, the subgroup working on pathogens and host-pathogen interactions can now be found at the C_FunGene.

Phone numbers remain unchanged; you'll find us on the first floor to the right side in the new building at Felix-Haussdorf-Str. 8, and on the 1st floor of Walther-Rathenau-Str. 48.

Joanne Barry successfully defends PhD thesis   (November 10, 2017)

Joanne Barry has successfully defended her PhD thesis on Mathematical Modeling of the HIV Life Cycle: Identifying Optimal Treatment Strategies. In her work, Joanne has developed an ordinary differential equations model, which she parameterizes based on kinetic data of HIV replication. Joanne then uses the model to analyze and optimize anti-HIV treatment strategies.

Congratulations, Joanne!

Lars Kaderali among top cited researchers in Germany   (October 20, 2017)

In its 5/2017 issue, Laborjournal has published their list of Most cited heads in Virus Research, based on a publication analysis of papers published between 2011 to 2015. Lars Kaderali is listed on rank 40, with 902 citations and 39 publications in the field of virus research, and is the only bioinformatician on the list.
