Open Positions

We are always looking for skilled coworkers in our group. We encourage anyone to apply who is currently involved or is highly motivated to get involved in research in systems biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, statistics and mathematical modeling applied molecular and cellular biology. As a successful group of interdisciplinary scientists, we are open to applicants with diverse backgrounds.

We currently have the following open positions:

 

1 Postdoc Bioinformatics or mathematical Modeling

We have an open position for a postdoctoral researcher in bioinformatics or mathematical modelling, to strengthen our research activities in the mentioned areas. The position is paid according to salary scale E13 (full-time), limited until May 2018, but with the option of prolongation.

 

In the area of bioinformatics, the institute works on the development and application of machine learning tools for the integrative analysis of high-throughput OMICS data. We apply these methods in the context of the population studies SHIP and GANI_MED to cardiovascular diseases and fatty liver disease. A further area of interest is the analysis of deep sequencing data in the context of cancer. In the area of mathematical modelling, we work on dynamic models of viral and bacterial infection, as well as the innate and adaptive immune responses to infection.

We expect the successful applicant to participate in one of the mentioned research areas, and initiate and develop his or her own, independent research program in the area of interest of the institute.
